In the GD Dead, Colt Skinner writes with a real, gritty, cinematic style that would make you think he went undercover in a real vampire motorcycle club, escaping just in time to peel out and leave his story behind in skidmarks across the page. It's that badass."
- Carver Pike, author of Kin of the Fallen and Faces of Beth
'. . .Skinner has crafted an unlikely duo you'll be rooting for with Hellbilly and Death Mask. This novel rips along - the reader will be sweating bullets as the action ramps up all the way to the brutal, bloody, unabashedly enjoyable ending!'

"This was wild! Colt Skinner has a seriously masterful grasp on writing realistic characters and settings that exist in or around niche subcultures. The writing style is crisp, clean, and confident with a first-person POV told in a unique tense that is not easy to pull off. This is just a testament to the writing chops this guy has. Red Laces may be his best work yet: a bold endeavor into some of the darkest parts of humanity, with an unexpected and OH SO satisfying twist."
-Megan Stockton, author of Bluejay, Lovely Dark and Deep, and more
This book blew me away. At only 81 pages, it packs one hell of a punch. It doesn’t take long at all to realize that Tank is a complete waste. He is full of hate, loves violence and seems to be waiting for his chance to lash out at anyone he can belittle or harm. He loves the feeling of power and uses that to psych himself up and flex on others within his crew. He definitely takes his role and his red laces seriously. This character is the worst and Skinner’s vivid writing brings him and this whole book to life. It’s almost as if you are tagging along with these lowlifes. A couple of things in the book made me think maybe Tank had a soft side in there somewhere but was proved wrong. He only gets worse. The blurb mentions “Some people deserve what’s coming to them…” remember this because I did not see this ending coming. THIS is seriously one of the best and most powerful endings ever. This is how it’s done. The last sentence is going to stick with me.

Reads like an episode of "Masters of Horror," and this author is on his way to becoming one!
"Colt Skinner writes with a real, gritty, cinematic style"
This short story written by Colt Skinner, replaces reality with no holds barred taboos and enough forbidden desires that safe words must be used. Pleasantly pieced together, Skinner successfully creates an amazing ambience of horrific voyeurism for the reader. His experimental fictional ecstasy is pure genius and should only be read behind closed doors, safely hidden away from all others.
While reading this short but memorable story for the first time, I had no idea "where" Colt was taking me, but I sure wanted to go along for the ride! No one would guess this author doesn't have a long and impressive collection of published work to his credit, his writing is seamless and precise, and his ability to shock when one least expects it, is the best type of horror. [This] reads like an episode of "Masters of Horror," and this author is on his way to becoming one!
You won't need a "safe word," just dive full-frontal into this gem, and be sure to hang on tight!
Colt Skinner's debut, brought to us by the unholy alliance of D&T Publishing and Godless, is one hell of a ride.
Skinner leaves the reader wanting, hoping there's more to the story of Grace and Eddy than what we've been exposed to. More than that, we're left hoping there's a lot more on the horizon from this emerging author because his English is good, but his writing is excellent.
Noteworthy stories were A Room of Emerald and Clear Skies. It was an emotional story but so good...
Horror anthologies are great if they’re done right. Thankfully, ‘Season of the Witch’ is one of the better ones. It’s rare to find a collection of short stories that all hit the mark so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there isn’t a bad story in this anthology, they’re all frighteningly good.
A couple of highlights for me were, Colt Skinner’s “A Room of Emerald and Clear Skies” and MJ Mcclymont’s “Dark Beira”
A Room of Emerald and Clear Skies by Colt Skinner: The biggest emotional gut punch of the collection.
Another favorite of mine, A Room of Emerald And Clear Skies by Colt Skinner. It is such a sad story, but I loved it.
